This is a location where I have painted several watercolors, as I find it a fascinating subject within historic London; in fact, it even served as a filming location for scenes in the Harry Potter movies. The street is called Stoney Street and is situated right next to Borough Market. The overhead railway bridge creates a composition of intersecting lines and areas of shadow along the curve of the alleyway; the old walls, iron gates, and railway structure evoke the atmosphere of the most authentic London.
